Marcelo Eduardo Bocardo, Winemaker and Owner

Marcelo Bocardo, third generation winemaker and one of Argentina’s leading exporters of grape juice concentrate is a descendant of Italian immigrants that settled in Mendoza in 1910. During his teenage years, he worked at the family’s vineyards and winery. Later on, he became its head winemaker producing bulk wines from 1986 through 1992. To expand his know-how and gain experience in the production of sparkling and premium wines, he also worked at Gancia, Argentina and other wineries in the region.

In 1992, he moved to Chile to lead a Chilean owned wine and grape juice production project. In 1996, the company opened a new branch in Mendoza and he was appointed General Manager and Marketing Director. During this tenure, he achieved great success by developing new and high caliber clients worldwide.

In 2001, Marcelo’s dream of launching his own winery became a reality. He founded Proemio Wines, a boutique winery specialized in the production of high quality wines in the heart of Mendoza. By 2005, he developed Jugos Australes, a company dedicated to the production of grape juice concentrate becoming the largest Argentine exporter to Japan. Today, Jugos Australes has the lion share of 40% of the total consumption of grape juice concentrate in Japan.

Marcelo Bocardo is married to Patricia Stirpa and has two children, Antonella and Nicolás.

Julian Iñarra Iraegui, Exports Manager

After earning a degree in Economics, Julian moved to Europe where he lived for five years while managing a luxurious hotel in the Pyrenees. He then moved back to Argentina where he started his wine career with Trivento (Concha y Toro in Argentina). But, it was at Proemio Wines, where he truly became passionate about the art of winemaking and the wine business for exports. As Proemio’s Export Manager, Julian travels extensively opening new markets and providing support to the numerous clients worldwide.

Julian lives in Mendoza city. He is married to Florencia and has two children.
